Classified Evidence

14 09 2006

From the NYT:

the Senate Armed Services Committee endorsed legislation that would give suspected terrorists more legal protections than the president desires.

Four of the panel’s 13 Republicans joined all 11 Democrats in rejecting Mr. Bush’s proposal to keep defendants from seeing classified evidence against them.

It appears that at least some on the Senate Armed Services Committee think that people should be treated like, you know, people.  It’s tragic that a victory for human rights is a defeat for the President of the United States.
