U.S. House – Working for the U.S. Public – 3 days/week

6 12 2006

Republican house members everywhere groaned ad they learned that they would have to start working for a living.  The new democratic house leader has said that the next congress will work longer hours.  Longer than what you ask?

For much of this election year, the legislative week started late Tuesday and ended by Thursday afternoon — and that was during the relatively few weeks the House wasn’t in recess.

And now . . .

Next year, members of the House will be expected in the Capitol for votes each week by 6:30 p.m. Monday and will finish their business about 2 p.m. Friday, Hoyer said.

And what does Rep. Kingston have to say about working a 5 day/week schedule?

“Keeping us up here eats away at families,” said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. “Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says.”

Hear that?  Democrats hate families.  I knew it.  Link to article.

Stupid Democrats, care about doing their jobs and not about their families. Do you think that Jack “Asshat” Kingston realizes that there are tens of thousands of Americans who have to figure out how to work away from their families every day? You know what you do? You fucking deal with it, or you get a new job.
