Civil Unions in New Jersey

14 12 2006

According to the NYT:

TRENTON, Dec. 14 — The New Jersey Legislature voted this evening to allow civil unions between same-sex couples, quickly settling an emotionally fraught issue but frustrating advocates on both sides.

The republicans tried and failed to add something to the bill that would have defined marriage as between one man and one woman – so the next item on the agenda for the un-bigoted in New Jersey is to push for full marriage rights.
